Preparation of Feasibility Studies and Detailed Engineering Designs for Two Bridges for the Proposed Sustainable Highlands Region Core Road Network Project

Country: Independent State of Papua New Guinea

Client: Asian Development Back

Period: June 2024 to Now

Outline:

The project involves two bridges located on the five priority road networks of the Sustainable Highlands Regional Core Road Project (SHRCRNP) in Papua New Guinea, which are important bridges connecting rural areas to the Highlands Highway. However, the current bridges have been damaged by natural disasters and ageing and require repair or reconstruction. This work will identify the best solution to improve the two subject suspension bridges based on technical, environmental social and economic analysis and evaluation, with reference to relevant projects, and prepare detailed work reports, designs and estimates for the improvement of the bridges.
