Outline:
In Timor-Leste, intensive and intermittent heavy rains across the country in the early hours of 4 April 2021 caused significant damage to infrastructure in the capital Dili, including roads and bridges, river revetments and water supply facilities, while damage to agricultural infrastructure due to flooding was reported in rural areas. In addition, 14 000 people were temporarily displaced in the capital city of Dili, which has also contributed to the spread of the new coronavirus infection. The project aims to support immediate rehabilitation works for urgent facilities, with the medium- and long-term goal of Build Back Better (BBB).
