Country: The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste
Client: JICA(Japan International Cooperation Agency)
Period: April 2022 to January 2023
Outline:
Timor-Leste is mountainous and has steep terrain all the way to the coast, and urban areas are located on narrow plains between the mountains and the coast, so landslides and flooding are frequent. The lack of emergency disaster response equipment such as water tanks, generators, toilets and disaster prevention warehouses has resulted in a fragile operational system. The project aims to renew and upgrade construction equipment and disaster emergency response equipment for road and river channel maintenance, strengthen disaster preparedness and disaster recovery response capacity, and create a disaster resilient town.
