Preparatory Survey for Dar es Salaam Intersection Improvement Project in the United Republic of Tanzania

Country: United Republic of Tanzania

Client: JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency)

Period: May 2023 to March 2024

Outline:

In Tanzania, where motorisation is progressing rapidly, chronic traffic congestion is a social problem in Dar es Salaam City, the main economic city. A necessary study was conducted to implement a ‘project for multi-leveling of major intersections’, which will contribute to smoothing traffic on trunk roads in the Dar es Salaam urban area, stimulating economic activities and facilitating logistics from the Port of Dar es Salaam to the rest of the country and neighbouring countries.
